F.E.A.R (Guard Your Heart)

CNN, Huffington Post, blogs, Twitter, Facebook etc these days are bearers of bad news. We then personalize the stories and ask ourselves "when will it be my turn?" "what if I am next?" and drag this emotional baggage we arranged and packed by ourselves. Unknown to some, every media outlet we expose ourselves to, we are opening up our spirits to whatever sort of energy they carry; positive or negative. FEAR is creeping in. There is this physical sensation in your heart, emotionally there is this heaviness especially after reading or watching some form of "news". Maybe it's not even the media, maybe you have direct issues that pose as threats in your personal life and you live in this constant state of fear, you have to remind yourself WHO you are and WHOSE you are. These days it is rather easy to live in fear because this dark world is getting darker. I won't sit here and type like I don't have my own share of fear because I do. I have an exam on thursday I should be studying for, but after watching the news FEAR crippled me in my ignorance. Thank God for His Word that reminds us and puts us back in perspective. Yes! I included *lifts hand and hangs head in shame.* Good news is we can have self-checks. When you sit down and feel yourself slipping into that place of doubt and worry and unease, check yourself. John 14:1,27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. not as the world gives, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Fear and God cannot reside in the same place. Either trust in fear or trust in God. You can't eat your cake and have it. "For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment. 2 Timothy 1:7.

Silence your emotions. Guard your heart.

If you know yourself and you know you can't handle an excessive amount of "bad news" don't go out of your way looking for the news. If you hear about something that "shakes" you, flip the channel, close that web page and say a prayer. You have the mind of Christ.  Pour your worries and fear at His feet and LEAVE THEM THERE.

If we must have any fears, fear GOD...."The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom..." Proverbs 9:10a

You are TOO beautiful to have fear in your heart. We don't have time for that.

I believe in you.
