Solitary Confinement

There you are sitting in a room full of people in a cacophony of questions in your mind. You are drowning in the midst of people but you are in deep loneliness and isolation in your mind. You are confidently convinced that no one understands your pain. Your issues have isolated you. Your thoughts have isolated you. The voices in your head have drowned out the voices of the world, and you are ALL alone. So what if they left you? They weren't meant to stay anyway. So what if they talked about you? At least you are on someone's mind. You ask all these questions. Why did all this happen to you, and if God loves you so much how dare He allow such and such befall you. You are mad at Him, and have refused to let anyone speak life to your weakness. Voices start to whisper destructive thoughts into your heart; like “Maybe the world would be a better place without you if you take matters into your own hands.” Listen! The devil understands that the mind is a powerful tool that controls your entire life. Once he can plant some thoughts into your mind, he basically has you under his chokehold. That’s the last place you want to be in. Be careful!

Why do we wear struggles and pain like a crown? and why does it become a badge of honor when you can tell someone “woe is me. You just don’t understand what I’m going through?” What do you do when you feel like rejection and solitude is punishment and no longer protection? Can God trust you enough to believe that even when you feel like He doesn’t have your back that you will hold on to Him still? When you’re all you’ve got, and life has squeezed your very essence, will praise or poison come out of your mouth? What happened to the church being a place where one can borrow strength and faith and hope and love? Just because someone’s demons don’t look like yours doesn’t give you a pass to judge or condemn them. How do we intend to save people when we walk with a pep in our step like we have never known defeat? Forgetting that if it wasn’t for God’s grace our story would have been different?

What if you understood that your pain and your isolation was all for a reason? How would you react to your struggles now if you believed that they were all set in place for your development. After all, God chastises those He loves right? Whitney Houston said “I was not built to break.” Life may bend you but never let it break you. Your testimony was not given to you to shelf or file. It was given for the deliverance of others. God didn’t allow you pass through that test for no reason. He has better things to do other than frustrate you. I promise! Never let life cajole you into believing that you are all alone. T.D Jakes said “Rejection is not a bad thing because God always isolates greatness.” Don’t let the world make you think they have it all together. People just aren’t brave enough to let the world see that they are hurting. I can confirm that your story may be different from mine, but we all feel pain now and then. Make use of your isolation for preparation to succeed. Let it mould you into the best you. It is with this understanding that you will find the lesson in the trial. It will all make sense when you let yourself know it won’t last always, and God is trying to show you something to show other people.

“Is anyone crying for help? God is listening,
ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there;
if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. Disciples so often get into trouble; still, God is there every time. He’s your bodyguard, shielding every bone;
not even a finger gets broken.” Ps 34:17-20 (MSG)

The harder you fight for control over your life, the longer your mind torments you. The more you see that you were made for God is the moment you gain liberty, or else until he has control over you He will break you over and over and over again (If you don’t believe try it out and let me know what happens.) Stop running away from God. Run to Him. This torment of your mind is only God tugging at your heart trying to get your attention. He is JEALOUS for you. Drop your little cares at His feet, and leave them there. He made you and knows what to do with them. Someone said you won’t be anything? By the time God is done with you they will see that through Him, you are everything. Wipe your tears, and pick your face off the ground and trust the plans God has for you. He’s got your back. When you feel like no one understands, He understands, and more than anything He wants you to communicate with Him.

I love you and mean well. I believe in all that you are, and all you have potential to be. You are beauty-FULL. Believe nothing else.

Favor O.
