Hot or Cold?

“I love Jesus so much!” “we have our personal relationship” “I don’t need to put it on social media” “Jesus is my homeboy!” and so on. Come on! You know you’ve heard all these and even come up with your own phrases, so don’t sit there and twist your nose like you don’t know what’s going on. You know what’s crazy about all this? When Friday comes, the same people loving Jesus and all are tweeting at their friends to update them on the “turn-up” for the night. We see pictures on social media of their drunken nights and foolery. Of course, when Sunday comes they are too hung-over to go to church (or too uninterested to go). I keep saying, Christianity isn’t a box you tick on forms and go on living your life like you own it.

Let me ask the BIG question:

WHO DO YOU REPRESENT? WHAT IS YOUR BRAND?......Yeah! Think about it.

Are you a little closet christian that is too shy to let the world know you’re into this “Jesus thing?” You hide your bible when your cool friends are coming around, or scratch that. Who even carries bibles again right? We have iPads and digital bibles so it’s more convenient to hide Jesus (or so you think).  With our lips we proclaim Jesus, but before we know it, when pressure crushes us we deny Jesus like Peter.

Luke 22:33-34 Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.”
But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

Let me remind you. You cannot live for this world and live for Jesus too. The Bible clearly tells us we cannot serve two masters. You have to choose where your loyalty lies. If you love Jesus, let your WHOLE life reflect that. He wants your entire life because He is a jealous God, and jealous for where your heart is. He’s not interested in the Sunday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year part.

Our freedom as Christians does not give us the liberty to sin.

Romans 6:1-3 So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn’t you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land!

Is sinning really worth it? Will your friends that pressured you into acting a fool stand beside you on judgment day? No honey! You will be standing there alone before Christ giving account of what you did with your life. He is the one that died for you, not your friends. Live your life for God’s approval, or as I like to hashtag #LivingForAnAudienceOfOne. There are no awards for this on earth, you don’t get as much praise as you would for living like the world. So, you have to step out in boldness and courage to do this for Christ by yourself.
You are a brand ambassador for Christ. There are so many things I want to do with my life sometimes, but when I remember who I represent I have to chill. There are also people that look up to you whether you know or not. What is your life mentoring to them? Your every decision affects someone’s life. You must UNDERSTAND your brand, and accept that you are living for a higher cause.

Ladies, there is absolutely NOTHING as beautiful as living your life with standards and values. When you walk into a room and people turn to wonder who is that person? That is a true mark of success. The glory of God just knows how to make anyone look different. Are you polishing your crown? Or have you let the world throw dust on it? Don’t let the words of anyone deceive you. Living for Jesus is SO worth it. Do you know what I fear the most?

Matt 7:21-23 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Look! We can’t play with this life. We have to go HARD for Christ! Are you with me?

I love you and mean well. you got this! You are #Branded4Christ. Remain beauty-FULL.

Within your Means.

Ever been that person or known that person who wears their clothes while they leave their house, but because they are going out with “Miss-I-got-it-better” they borrow clothes from their friend to match up to a standard they aren’t yet on? We live in such a time when the pressure to be big is at an all-time peak. Instagram, Twitter, BBM, even face to face appearances make the next person just appear to have it better or on a more elevated level than you. If we are being honest, it’s not always a good feeling. We wonder why can’t we have that life? And we forget that the person may not have the happiness and peace you have in your life. You don’t stop to think that maybe they will trade their material things for the glow and sparkle in your eyes. Or they will give it all away to experience the simplicity you are oblivious to in your life only because the noise of luxury drowns the silence of your heart. In case you don’t know, the pressure these people that have it all go through to remain on the platform they are on is not the easiest. Before they come out looking like a million bucks there are so many things involved that if you knew, you will appreciate your life better.

This is not a long post. It’s just a reminder to be at ease in the here and now. To be actively present and content with the lot life has dealt you. You don’t need the latest Louboutins or that Givenchy purse to rank up your reputation. You don’t need to paint your face in layers of make-up to mask emotions, and scars you aren’t bold enough to display to the world (like most of these people do). Your inner riches surpass every man-made thing. When God sees that you are happy where you are, and can handle your character no matter what life throws you, He will add little sprinkles where you need them most. You won’t even realize when you no longer care about the next person’s life. You will be too busy on His mission with no down time to compare your lot with the next person’s.

Love your life. Accept yourself. Refuse to live on a pedestal you know fully well you have no business standing on. When it’s your time according to God’s schedule, you will have every good thing and more than you could have ever pictured yourself. Don’t sleep with that man because he promises you things. Don’t minimize your morals to appease the greed you sometimes experience. Don’t throw God under the bus in an attempt to fit-in. You know better. So, do better.

Hebrews 13:5 NLT: Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

God has your back. He’s in the business of protecting and loving His own.
I love you. I mean well. I trust you. I believe in you.
